This blog is about the trials and tribulations of being a young woman with chronic pain and illnesses. I will talk about not only things going on now, but things that have happened in the past, the constant thoughts I have because of being a pain patient, and the stresses of living life day to day like this. My hope is that it will help other pain patients see they aren't alone, especially those who are in their early to mid twenties like me.

what?? That doesnt sound right at all. Marriage is not suppose to have anything to do with your benefits, except maybe your medicare/drug coverage. I would go to the ssa.gov site and research that for yourself....

Straight from the site you gave:
DeleteWhat happens if the adult child gets married?
If he or she receives benefits as an adult disabled since childhood, the benefits generally end if he or she gets married. However, some marriages (for example, to another adult disabled child) are considered protected
I'm using it based on that because we're fighting for the fact that I had no real work experience before getting disabled and it's all based on my mom's disability.
DeleteI did not know you were getting disability based on your Mom. I thought you were over the age of 22 and out of school and got your disability based on your disability. Sorry for the confusion. So, yeah, it is a possibility unless you can prove yours...........good luck with it....they are getting tougher and tougher on awarding disability

It's even harder to get disability when you don't have much of a work history. I only worked one job, which is why I have to go under my mom. I'm just hoping they do this soon.
DeleteGood Luck......have you researched any other options?

A few. We'll have to decide how we want to handle it. Hopefully the rest of the case will go through soon.
